Did you know…
… The 1983-84 Edmonton Oilers scored an NHL-record 446 goals.
… The Oilers have won 5 Stanley Cups in their history, going 5-2 in Finals appearances.
… The Edmonton Oilers are the only former WHA team to retain their city and nickname (New England Whalers/Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche, Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes/Arizona Coyotes). … The Edmonton Oilers played the last-ever game at Calgary Flames Olympic Corral (4/18/83) and 1st-ever game at the Saddledome (10/15/83).  Calgary returned the favor, albeit 34 years later, when they were the visiting team for the Oilers debut at Rogers Place on 10/4/17.
… Edmonton Oilers Cowboy Bill Flett was the last player to play in the NHL that was part of the 1967 Expansion Draft. Flett is also the last player from that draft to score an NHL goal scoring his last on Wayne Stephenson and the Washington Capitals on November 13th 1979. Hall of Famer Mark Messier assisted on the goal.
… The 1983-84 Oilers were the league’s first team with three 50-goal scorers (Wayne Gretzky-87, Glenn Anderson- 54, and Jari Kurri-52).
… The Oilers won the first-ever game in the WHA, a 7-4 win over the Ottawa Nationals (10/11/72).
